Senior Expert at the European Commission DGTAXUD, Rules of Origin Unit, and former customs Director at the Italian Customs Agency, with almost 40 years of experience in customs and trade matters. From the WCO perspective, EU contributor to many initiatives namely the compilation of the WCO SAFE Framework of Standards as member of the WCO High Level Strategic Group. On rules of origin, the participation to the TCRO during the early stage of negotiations for the Harmonization Work Programme in parallel with the CRO of the WTO. On bilateral and regional relationships, EU lead negotiator on several free trade agreements on customs and trade facilitation concluded worldwide with third partners. As team leader of the Pan Euro Mediterranean Convention, today he oversees the smooth functioning of the diagonal cumulation system of the rules of origin in the euro-mediterranean area in a modernised digital environment of the supply chain.
