Svetlana RAUDONEN European Commissionpolicy officer, Electronic Customs Project Management

Dr Svetlana Raudonen is a policy officer of European Commission, in the Unit of B1 – Processes & data, customer relationship and planning of Digital Delivery of Customs and Taxation policy and a Business IT Project Manager of e-PoC project. Before joining DG TAXUD she served for 6 years in diplomatic mission being a customs policy counsellor representing Estonia in WCO and Council of European Union. She also chaired the Customs Union Working Party of the EU Council under Estonian presidency and fulfilled the role of Head of ETCIT, initiative on exploring of use EU-wide pooling of resources for developing future customs IT systems. She has 18 years of experience in customs and taxation, including implementation of EU Customs policies and Customs Control Procedures and Legislation, customs technologies, including implementation of Union Customs Code to ensure paperless and fully electronic customs environment. She received her PhD degree from the Faculty of Economics in Tallinn University of Technology. A key focus of her research is on scientific evaluation of impact of public policy on foreign direct investments and she was guest lector at the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences and Tartu University.
