Sun Hwa CHO Korea Customs ServiceAssistant Director, External Relations Division

Ms. Sun Hwa CHO joined Korea Customs Service in 2000. Her experience as a Customs enforcement expert paved her way to RILO AP in 2012-2013 and again in 2018-2019, where she contributed to the management of the Customs Enforcement Network (CEN). Her collaboration with the WCO resulted in the successful implementation of WCO Operation CATalyst, which aimed at targeting New Psychoactive Substances. This was followed by a contribution to Operation CATalyst 2 in 2018. Between 2020 and 2022, Ms. CHO engaged in FTA negotiations and collaborated with domestic and overseas agencies in the implementation of FTAs, including a role in the operation and development of cross-border e-CO data exchange system. In 2023 and 2024, in recognition of her consistent contributions, Ms. CHO was elected as the chairperson of the Technical Committee on Rules of Origin. Currently, she continues her service by overseeing various WCO matters at the External Relations Division.
