Sebastian Agustino Macias is a trade and rules of origin expert of the European Commission. He has graduated in Business Administration and holds an MSc in European Studies at The London School of Economics, where he was inspired to pursue a career in international affairs at the European Commission. He has over 12 years’ experience in international trade and customs matters. He has previously worked in DG TRADE, dealing with trade and sustainable development matters on the FTAs between the EU and Colombia/Peru/Ecuador; Vietnam and Moldova. Since 2018, he is working in DG TAXUD dealing with negotiations and implementation of preferential rules of origin in the Economic Partnership Agreements between the EU and African, Caribbean and Pacific countries; negotiations of preferential rules of origin of the EU-Philippines FTA and focal point for rules of origin EU-Africa.
