Donggeun KIM WCOTechnical Attache

Donggeun Kim has been serving as a Technical Attaché in the Procedures and Facilitation Sub-Directorate at the World Customs Organization (WCO) since December 2023. Mr. Kim focuses on Globally Networked Customs (GNC) and contributes to developing legal frameworks for secure and efficient cross-border Customs data exchange. His work addresses legal, operational, and technical challenges to enhance international trade facilitation. Prior to joining the WCO, he accumulated over 13 years of experience at the Korea Customs Service (KCS), where he held diverse roles. At KCS, Mr. Kim served as Legal Affairs Director, where he oversaw legal compliance and managed litigation. In FTA-related divisions, he was responsible for the implementation of the EU-Korea and China-Korea FTAs and origin verification procedures. He strengthened customs risk information exchange at the Customs Border Targeting Center and managed systems and regulatory frameworks in the Financial Investigation Division.
